Solid Rock At A Glance:
On April 23, 1968, fourteen adults, one youth and four ministers met for an organizational meeting at the Orange Garden Community Building, Kissimmee. The group felt it wise to begin with cottage prayer meetings for the summer and the first was held on May 7, 1968 either at the home of Alvin Seyler in Campbell City or at the Holt’s home with eleven present.
Out of these initial meetings, the First Church of God, Kissimmee, FL. (Church Of God, Anderson) was birthed and Rev. Robert E. Hurt was called to be the pastor. After many years of great leadership, Solid Rock’s history had an explosive encounter with a visionary leader. In May 1998, Rev. Whitfield D. Blenman accepted the call to be the pastor and under his leadership, the Lord blessed the church with significant numerical and spiritual growth and financial stability.
On the last Sunday in November 2006, we had our first worship service in the new sanctuary and it was dedicated to the glory of God on Sunday January 28, 2007.
In June 2019 Bishop Blenman retired as Lead Pastor. By unanimous decision, the congregants elected Pastor Matthew & Rhesa Quainoo from Columbia Maryland as successors, to lead this local assembly of Believers into new paths as the Holy spirit leads them.
As a congregation, we are committed to seeing men and women, boys and girls come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and grow in their walk with Him.
We are excited about the journey ahead and we are grateful for the victories of the past. Yes, we do believe that there is a best that is yet to come and we invite you to come and experience it with us.
